The only qualifier is "first-born child". I continue to wonder, however, if any ill befell those families whose first-born child had already died prior to that date. By accident or battle or sickness.

I myself am unsure if Mayuri-sama's previous attempts at my creation count as my "elder siblings", or if I am indeed the first-born, seeing as I was the only one kept.

Seein' as a lotta people in town are first-borns, don't have their families with 'em or don't have any to speak of... I'm assumin' the deities wouldn't wanna kill so many off after havin' bothered bringin' us to sit tight 'round here in the first place.

I would assume the same rules would apply- for example, that a second-born child, even if they were the only one of their world, would be spared. However... one cannot assume, in this place.
