Unexpected Tamaki Intrusions and Other Nonsense
I'll most likely be back in action in about 2 weeks. In the last two weeks I have graded 180 essays (68 of those being 5-10 page research papers wherein I had to anally go over their MLA formatting -_-). Also, I comment compulsively on my students' papers so they know exactly why they got the grade they got. And I have 180 essays to go and various other incidental assignments (I've never been so happy for a week of in-class presentations...). Then I have finals and I am done until March...ish. Then my class load will be all Honors (AP/IB English IV - Seniors! Yeah! - and one class on 9th grade Honors where I have to teach Hemingway and Existentialism and Shakespeare(!!!)). Much easier. The Crucible gets kind of obvious after a bit...
In more frivolous news...
I was at the grocery store today and this man come over and hands me a coupon for a free vegetable peeler. I immediately though both "Awesome! Way to support my addiction to kitchen utensils in a non-monetarily taxing way!" and "Oh, there has got to be some catch..."
And there was a catch - I had to listen to a 5 minute sales spiel and, after a good deal of time being fairly dormant, Tamaki's voice popped up in my head wanting to buy the cheap, novelty kitchen utensils. I had to stop myself from laughing because that would not have been taken well.
Okay, by a week from Monday, I should be done with both Miller and Steinbeck...Thank goodness.
