The weather went from scorching to...Irish.

So, in bulleted form, what is up with me.

* I have a three month teaching job! Honors, college prep (both sophomore level) and journalism. Lord knows what I will do with journalism. If anyone happened to study either The Crucible or The Pearl and liked anything your teacher did, I am an avid robber ( Read more... )

I LOVE the Twelve Kingdoms novel series (and anime). You can actually read the The Shore in Twilight (the sixth book written, I think) as well as some of the other Twelve Kingdom novels here. A Shore in Twilight takes place not long after A Thousand Leagues of Wind, The Skies at Dawn novel. So you're absolutely free to read that without feeling like you're missing something; you're not. It's a great translation.

You can also read A Demon Child here, which is a part of the Twelve Kingdoms series, but not officially. It basically follows what happened to Taiki when he went back to the human world. I'd probably read it after The Shore in Twilight.

Ohhhhhh. I can find out what happened to Taiki! Thank you!

I'm really excited to read it. And I've heard about "A Demon Child," and I'm excited to know that someone has translated. That's where the whole concept of poor Taiki came from anyways. :)

Done. Finito. Ended. :0

It was 113 here last week and this is the second day of rain today. Whaaaa?

AND SHAWN COLVIN IS AWESOME. ESPECIALLY ACOUSTICALLY.

And Crystal Cave is fantabulously. For some reason I remember the scene with Merlin crawling under the heating system (Is it called a hypocaust??? hypocast??) very vividly. And there are two more books!

AND OURAN. YES.

My, it's been a while! I've been getting back into fic (reading, and....writing, eventually) and that lead me back to ff.net, and here, and yeah. Hi.

a) where do you read your ouran manga? or do you actually purchase it?
b) I read the Pearl in honors lit freshman year of high school....and all I really remember was our assignment where we had to think of an event that changed our life as much as finding the pearl would have. The pearl becomes how time will be measured from there on - "well, it was a few months after we found the pearl..." and we had to pick events like that in our lives. Kids from divorced families and stuff could do it, but some of us were like uh, when Friends went off the air?
c) I read the crucible junior year of high school with a teacher I was in love with....and we acted it out in class. I was ALWAYS CHOSEN TO BE ABIGAIL and I kind of thought my teacher was trying to say I was a whore or something. Acting it out opposite a cute boy didn't hurt my comprehension, though!

Hope that helps...!

OOOH, it is so orderly.

a) I do purchase it as it comes out. I have all 14 volumes that are currently out. The new stuff I read on Omari's Sister, a blog, and I used to read it on One Manga.

b) You just totally clarified something for a project I'm designing for The Pearl. I'm teaching it to the lowest level of kids there, so I'm trying to figure out a way to make it accessible for them. But I think you shifted the missing puzzle piece into place for my "Personal Pearl Project."

c) They probably won't get to act out most of it because of how the teacher structures her class, but I may have them do some of it.

THANK YOU!

In this economy, something is very good.

I'm doing okay. Tomorrow I actually have a job-type-interview-thing for a tutoring position, so.... yay for both of us being quasi-employed?

yes. I am a bad bad poster.

Yes. Now if only certain people of close relation would understand this fact, I'd be set.

And I hope you had good luck on your interview (now that it is most likely past tense). They'd be sad people if they did not hire you.

And yes, yes you are. :)
