"A Dragon Unborn"
I am very pleased to say that I did it.
Did what, you ask? I completed my outline for the Avatar Big Bang that’s what. It still needs a lot of work, particularly for Book Three because right now I’m basically replacing Canon Zuko and Iroh with AU Zuko and Azula. But the outline is DONE! And at over 3,000 words no less, if that’s any indication I’m not going to have any trouble reaching the 10,000 word minimum for the Big Bang itself.
I’m also going to be aiming for the 1,000 words a day writing challenge. I’ll be posting updates as I complete milestones in the fic, or need advice like with the ‘Antagonists’ post. I want to keep the full fic itself under wraps until it’s time for the Big Bang’s Big Reveal, but I am going to give enough info to (hopefully) keep everyone interested. Here’s what I wrote for the Outline’s summary.
“When Azula was revealed to lack any firebending ability, Ozai cast her aside and focused his attention on Zuko. As they grew up, Ozai continued to send away to people supporting Zuko because they were 'distracting him'. Zuko, in an attempt to rebel against his father, still speaks up at the war meeting and is exiled, his sister joining him in the hunt for the Avatar.”
Aside from fanfiction stuff, I’m also going to be posting once a week something in this journal. I don’t think yet that I’m comfortable using this as a personal sounding board, but I do want to use this account to talk about things that I’ve wanted to voice for awhile now. My thoughts on various cartoons would be a good example.
Tomorrow is going to be, well busy to say the least, but my writing goal stands firm. For tomorrow, I want to write at least the first chapter of my story. 1,000 words a day should be very doable even with my schedule (provided I stop getting called into work on my days off), this entry was nearly five hundred words as is. So let’s see what happens.
