Sort of BAWWW ahead?

There's nothing more discouraging than going through a long list of roleplays that are currently open on LJ. I just... Don't understand. How can one roleplay work, and another with an amazing, original plot idea just... Not work? It's difficult to tell what will make one roleplay successful, while another fails before it ( Read more... )

I've rambled off and on about that RP I wanted to brew up, but... yeah RP brewing in LJ Land is pretty discouraging. One day I'm motivated, and the next day I'm loaded down with doubt. So, I'm just shelving my idea for the time being and waiting for that one RP that really interests me. You know, enough for me to go beyond just reserving a character. :D;;

The popularity thing? How superficial is that? :( I hate that shit.

Anyway, good luck on your RP. ♥

Exaaactly. I'm still pretty motivated? I'm just fajklsdjf that once again all my work may be for nothing. I really want this roleplay to go places! Have you ever said what your roleplay idea is about? LMAO, I can't remember. Then again, I'm the type that is like KEEP IT SECRET KEEP IT SAFE, all paranoid that some ho will steal my idea.

I hate it, as well. :[ MMM IT'S LIKE HIGH SCHOOL ALL OVER AGAIN.

Thank you. ♥

It probably depends on a number of factors, such as how well people click or how busy people are at the time. :o ...I'd be willing to try an actual game again. Though I still don't really understand logs and such. :x

Idk, I guess. I'm more referring to like... How many people join. Sure, quality over quantity? But it's hard to keep a game active when there's not a lot of people involved. If there's less people and less going on, players start to forget it exists and soon enough, it dies. I've seen it happen time and time again. I'll do all I can at my game to make sure it does happen.

W-what don't you understand? I can send you through KIRA'S SCHOOL OF ROLEPLAYING. I love teaching people the basics and such.

It's just that if you start up a game during exam times or something, people might not have the chance to get into it. :/

Uh... what the hell logs are and why people just don't comment like we do in the DR. .__.;

I'm not starting it like, now. There's still a whooole lot of work I have to do to make it how I like it. I'm not going to just rush into this LIKE I USUALLY DO. I have to find a new name for the community, anyway.

Well, most of the time, characters in games have journal entries that they make, and it's just like they're talking through LJ. Then you have the logs, which are them actually interacting. It depends on personal choice how you write those... Most people tend to go with paragraph roleplay because once you get into the swing of it, it's better than bracket.

Also, RPing on Inksome would probably be cool. |D

See, I think so, too? But roleplayers are lazy and tend to stick with what they know. It seems they'd rather stay at LJ and complain about no notifications and only getting 15 icons than going to a place where lots of awesome names are free and you get tons of icons. I even have an account and could give out invites, it's just... Idk. :[

People in general are lazy. XP But I'm willing to try just about anything. Which is why I have an account just about everywhere. 8'D

Oh, wow! This is awesome that you typed all of this up. ♥ It really gives me some good insight as to what other roleplayers may feel, as I can definitely agree with you on a lot of those points. Especially number one. Nothing better than joining a game and feeling so awkward to jump into posts where everyone seems to know each other and your character's just like "...hi."

As for number two, I know what you mean. I usually try and go for the simple, but elegant look when it comes to setting up a game. I put just enough in the userinfo that it makes people want to read more and know about the place. And as for plot? Yeah, that's a definite big thing. The game I'm coming up with will have a lot of little events to make up for when there aren't bigger, roleplay-wide ones. There will always be something to do or something characters can talk about, to keep people from getting bored when they have to resort to the same old same old ( ... )
