whoa. in the middle of writing this entry, i just got a call from one of my maryland legislators' offices. They got an email from me regarding the death penalty in Maryand, but I didn't include a mailing address, so they called to confirm that it was me so they could send me a reply in the mail.
Why the fuck can't they e-mail me the reply?! I have no idea how soon the vote on this will be, but talk about giving the impression that your legislator is stuck in the stone age...
I hope they at least use a typewriter to save energy.
You know, further, why did they go to the trouble of figuring out my phone number instead of just using e-mail to confirm my mailing address? I guess that'd make it too obvious how easily they could just email me a reply.
