So, over on Facebook these days, people seem to be saddling up with respective presidential candidates. There's a lot of excitement over Obama, and I felt that too untill recently. Thing is, at a discussion on racism that I attended at a DC restaurant named after Langston Hughes this was said by one of the speakers there:

Gore and Kerry were moderates and didn't have the strength to fight against Diebold. If they aren't going to fight against Diebold, it doesn't matter how much support they get, because the machines are against them.

oh, and also, i figure if the democrats beat diebold in the congressional elections, they can do it in '08. but you make a good point that taking down Diebold should be more of a priority.

It'd also be nice if Congress turned over city law-making in DC to its citizens.
