Spiderman 3 speculating
I've never really read Spiderman comics, but it looks like there are three different stories about the nature of Venom (which the new movie is based on). 1. Original story: Spiderman is helping some other earth mutants in a fight on another planet, and looses his suit. He finds this black one that seems to read his mind, and keeps it till he figures out it's actually an alien thing, but when he gets rid of it, it joins with Eddie Brock, a former globe journalist who blames spiderman for loosing his job. 2. Another comic book retells the story: Eddie Brock is an old friend of Parker's and their fathers worked together on a weird suit that was supposed to cure cancer. Turns out the suit was evil. 3. In the cartoon version, the suit is an alien, but Parker got it stuck to him while he was helping some astronauts it had forced to crash.
It will be interesting to see what story the movie uses.
