The Pirates, The Famous Pirates of Penzance
So I've just been hired officially to be the music director of "Pirates of Penzance" at Crosswinds Arts and Science School in Woodbury. Performances are the second and third weekends in June, with school day performances in between. Tech week is the week AFTER I'm done with teaching at Achieve, so it should be all good. This is also before my St. Thomas classes start. I guess it was meant to happen.
It's really cool to be asked to do this. I've come a long way, and every experience I've had on the stage has prepared me for this (including performing in "Pirates" in high school in a community theater production).
Auditions start tomorrow and run for three days. Call backs are the following Monday, first cast meeting is March 24.
So from now until June, I will be cutting hair on weekends only.
On another note, one of my clients said yesterday that I had the best salon in the world because I have a cute puppy in it. Cute puppies are good for business, it seems.
