House, apartment, or bust?
I have been spending a lot of time looking at houses and apartments lately and I have come to the realization that Cobb County is a joke when it comes to prices. My original goal was to find a house that is close to my office but I was unable to find anything under $250,000. I expected the East Cobb area to be expensive but I did not think that all of Marietta, while remaining in the safer areas, would cost as much as it does. I quickly expanded my search to Kennesaw and Acworth but it was not much better since most homes ranged from $170,000 - $350,000.
I have decided that I am going to spend a bit more time living at home for the time being. I make plenty of money but not enough to afford a $300,000 home by myself while doing the things that I enjoy doing. I have received several offers to live with others but I have too many material possessions to cram them into a single room. I don’t know why I even want to move out to be honest.
On a positive note, I have paid off my car so that’s more money that can be placed in savings each month. I plan on building a new PC soon but that shouldn’t cost too much, possibly.
