I read street signs of green, red Stop signs too.
I read them now for me and you.
And I think to myself..."Wow, ain't glasses great?"
And I think to myself..."Wow, why did I wait?"
Astigmatism...the weird shape of my eye contorting my lens so that my brain is forced to compensate to see things clearly. The people at the optometrists office seemed really surprised that I didn't have glasses of any sort (other than my weak 14 year-old reading glasses that I wouldn't be caught dead in--think Sally Jesse Raphael but not red). I guess it was a year and a half ago when I had my physical and the nurse told me I would flunk the eye test if I had to renew my license.
I'm so impressed by how light and comfortable the glasses are too. I've been wearing them for 4 hours straight. I guess I'm "used to them". My old glasses were so heavy they practically blistered my ears after 15 minutes. I never "got used to them". I suspect I'll wear them quite a bit though I'm not "used to" the fact that they make me look like a teacher/grown up. : ) Ah such is life. I actually do have the option of laser surgery--which is fairly new in the astigmatism world as I understand (as of 5 years ago). I don't see myself dealing with the hassle of contacts. I have enough irritating daily routines that I can't seem to manage now.
