sympy is a very useful tool, especially in conjunction with Anaconda/Jupyter, but it's got its warts, and sometimes it fails at what should be an elementary task:

I wanted to run a script of mine to generate some plots earlier today. Oh look, matplotlib (a Python plotting module) is gone, probably (I assume) due to Cygwin upgrading Python under me and locally-installed modules not being migrated to the new version (which is expected).
