I recently needed to take screenshots of a Flash application running at a higher resolution than my screen's native resolution. Taking screenshots of a window larger than the screen isn't easy in Windows; here's a list of things that do NOT work:

• PrtScrn
• Alt-PrtScrn (screenshot of the current window; areas outside the screen are cut off)

I'm often surprised by how many visual designers don't take color blindness into account for their designs. I have a mild form of red/green color blindness myself; usually I only have difficulties telling certain colors apart, requiring a second or third look, but today I encountered a particularly striking example where I literally could not ( Read more... )

As an update to my previous post on trouble with Flash - Adobe has released an updated version now, 11.3.300.262, which is supposed to fix the crashes seen in Firefox with protected mode enabled, at least. A quick test with a Youtube video also didn't show any choppiness and/or 10-second stalls, but I'm not holding my breath there quite yet ( Read more... )

This is a heads-up for anyone who's having trouble with Flash in Firefox on Windows after updating the former to 11.3 (which you should, since it fixes a bunch of new security holes).
