Chapter 1 Pilot
1.1 Junior Prom At PCA
Sun came up from the gentle braes of the southern Californian hill chains, and the campus of Pacific Coast Academy, the most elitary boarding school of Los Angeles county, was filling with light. It was probably going to be a hot spring day, barely suited for many pupils on thw campus recovering from a heated night. This had definitely not been a night like just any other, but the very junior prom night for some fifty kids of the school.
This was especially the case for Zoey Brooks, a blond Mary Sue from the New Orleans area 1 who was the undisputed head of a clique of juniors, and she had been in this position for already four years now, and that is how long she has already been enrolled here, unless one wants to subtract a few weeks she had spent in Covington near London, the british capital. 2
More precisely, Zoey Brooks had been among the first girls at this most illustrous educational institutions, formerly exclusively reserved for boys. The circumstances that had finally opend Pacific Coast Academy for female students had been a bit obscure, and the owner of this place, Leo Bradford 3 was still convinced that it was a miserable mistake.
In any case, there had been those friends of Zoey Brooks, and they looked like a very happy clique, but this was a severe deception, as the crew was really a bunch of mutually hostile individuals abusing and intriguing against each other. This had not been obvious to most of the external observers, though, and none of the kids had been afraid of the most malicious ploys going on behind their back. For that avail, they appeared to be one merry bunch at the end of junior prom night, but the time bomb was ticking mercilessly. Yet nothing would happen without some kind of external trigger.
1.2 Zoey’s Friends
Before going to move on to talking about the aftermath of junior prom, it is in order to introduce the members of Zoey’s superficially happy gang.
The most important member was apparently Chase Bartholomew Matthews, a dorky dweeb from the northeastern states with excessively bushy hair. He had been hankering after Zoey Brooks for over three years without admitting to it, although this was definitely obvious for everyone but the living barbie doll, and it had often been a source of misunderstandings and mishaps. During the last few months, Chase had been in London, but he was now back at least for a visit, or maybe he was up to return for good?
Chase’s best friend forever since middle school, when they had started sharing a dormitory room, was beyond any doubt afro-american Michael Barret from Georgia. Michael was plagued by a long list of phobias, and he was addicted to playing with his clacker balls.
The third boy in their dormitory room was Logan Reese, the teenage dandy, son of one of the richest Hollywood producers known as Malcolm Reese 4. As already insinuated, he was the incarnation of the conceptof a jerk, had always been, and would always be, no matter what. Unfortunately, the members of the crew had been too willing to forgive him all of his evil deeds over and over, something they should never have dared to even consider.
Quinn Pensky was a nerd girl that had started out at Pacific Coast Academy the same year as Zoey Brooks. In the beginning she had been a wonderful wallflower, but she had degenerated over time under the influence of her “friends” (falsely so-called). This was especially the case after moving in into a dormitory room with Zoey Brooks and Lola Martinez.
The latter was a dedicated drama queen and most likely a future winner of Oscar, and she was hopelesly addicted to good kissers. Unlike her aforementioned comrades, she had only joined Pacific Coast Academy one year later. Her acting prowess had always resulted in fooling her fellow pupils, including her “closest friends”, into believing lots of nonsense. Really, none of them noticed that Lola’s activities were centered almost exclusively about using them for the purpose of promoting her own Hollywood career.
