1. Intro
1.1. Sunrise In 101 Brenner
Sun came up from the braes of the southern Californian coastal hill chain, and it was breaking the darkness on the campus of renowned boarding school Pacific Coast Academy in the coastal outskirts of fame-laden Los Angeles.
Zoey Brooks, the most popular of all senior girls, yawned aloud upon being hit by the first sun rays.
The noise made her room mates Quinn and Lola wake up.
Lola Martinez was an aspiring Hollywood actress. She was up to winning an Oscar within the next two years. Today, she was bound for the auditions for a new movie by multitrillionary movie maker Malcolm Reese [malcolmr]. She was totally looking forward to impressing the umpires with her new smile, owed to some new face powder invented by Quinn. She dragged herself slowly out of her bed and slouched to the bathroom.
Quinn Pensky jumped up. She was a science geek girl producing heaps of interesting inventions, so-called ‘quinnventions’. She wanted to become a special effects engineer at Hollywood. For that avail, she had to keep and flattering and dating Logan Reese, spoiled jerkish son of aforementioned Malcolm and fellow pupil at Pacific Coast Academy.
Lola's rôle for the new movie would have been that of a flying faerie.
Of course they used to trick a lot in order to make people appear flying.
But this time, Quinn was up to something particularly special.
Lola should not just appear to fly …
1.2. Breakfast
Quinn, Zoey, and Lola had finally arrived in the cafeteria.
The boys from 146 Maxwell Hall, viz. Logan Reese, Michael Barret, and Chase Bartholomew Matthews, were already waiting for them.
Quinn forced herself into giving Logan a habitual kiss on the angle of his mouth.
Zoey sat down right next to her boyfriend Chase Bartholomew Matthews.
Lola waved and swaggered away. She grabbed her boyfriend Vincent Blake and pulled him back to their table.
Likewise, Lisa Perkins, girlfriend of Michael Barret, stumbled in and occupied safely a seat next to Michael.
Logan was chewing a sugar-coated doughnut.
Quinn grinned. “Hi Loggiebaby, I've got something new for your dad.”
Logan moaned, no long explanations, get it on. He needed Quinn to get into a college. He didn't care about school at all.
But his dad was going to support him financially during his college time. Otherwise he would stop promoting Logan's playboy life.
And Logan was too lazy to earn his own money. He would have liked to become a male model. But he needed connections for that.
Most model agencies in Los Angeles were somehow connected with Malcolm Reese or his competitors, either.
Many models were already actors or were up to becoming actors.
Thus agencies near Hollywood were necessarily concentrating on both acting and modelling.
Making it into the branch past his dad's wish was thus going to be very tough, toi the extent of forcing Logan to leave California.
And Logan loved things plain and simple, without lots of effort. Alas, he did not really trust Quinn and her inventions. Really, he thought of his ‘girlfriend’ as a spaz.
Quinn sighed. She produced a matrass from one of her pockets, shaking it slightly. “OK, this essence allows you to fly.”
Logan did not want to believe it. “To fly, yeah!” His voice was slightly sarcastic.
Michael shuddered. “I'm afraid of flying.”
Chase added, “I would like to fly across the campus, but seeing racoons from above might make me shriek, and lose my balance, and fall …”
Lola beamed. She imagined fluttering with her arms and play a faerie quite naturally, instead of sticking to complicated instructions in order to appear flying. “Does it already work?” She would have loved using it when trying out for aforementioned rôle.
Dustin Brooks, little brother of Zoey, snuck in. “Hi!”
Zoey greeted Dustin.
Lola was looking closely at Quinn's flask. “In order to fly, do I have to drink this or rub it onto my back?”
Quinn replied, “you have to drink it. But only a few drops. You will soon be able to flutter like a butterfly and take off the ground. It works better when drinking it at night time.”
Lola smirked.
Dustin grinned. He had a crush on one Carlotta Shay, a girl living in Seattle. He was a big fan of her web show.
Said show, iCarly, was very popular among pupils here at Pacific Coast Academy.
One of them, Melanie Puckett , was the twin sister of Samantha Puckett, co-moderator of said web show.
Now Dustin was up to using Quinn's essence in order to fly to Seattle. He walked over to his friends Robbie ‘Scooter’ Carmichael [scooter] and Henry Nolston [henryn].
Lisa Perkins was worried about Michael's fear of flying. She had gomne through quite some trouble because of his fear of rollercoasters. She sensed the whole hurlyburly to start over from afresh.
Quinn warned Lola, “I have to warn you. I haven't tested it yet. I do not know for how long it lasts, or what else may happen.”
Lola shrugged. She wouldn't have been able to understand Quinn's usually quite complicated and twisted instructions, looking more like computer programs rather than human converstaion, anyways.
Quarterback Vince Blake imagined easily another good use for that essence. He saw himself floating above the hostile defenses and touching down in their end zone. He so needed some secret weapon.
This was his last year at Pacific Coast Academy, and thus his last chance to win the finals of Californian association for football at high schools.
The breakfast gathering started now dissolving slowly.
1.3. Middle School Boys' Lounge
During the big break, Dustin, Henry, and Scooter were relaxing a bit in their lounge.
Ashley Blake [ashleyb] , little sister of Vince, snuck up to the guys. “Hi!” She grinned.
Excited Scooter could not help talking a lot about Quinn's invention. “I'm afraid of flying. But fluttering like a duck would be cool.”
Henry shrugged.
Askley interrogated the boys in a cold and arrogant manner.
Dustin sighed. “Quinn has invented it for Lola and her next theatre rôle.”
Ashley gasped. She was a close competitor of Lola Martinez, and she was not at ease with imagining her as her future sister-in-law. Alas, Ashley had arranged that in order to keep her worst competitor close. Thence she had it coming and was going to bear with it. But she was not up to leaving Lola the main rôle in Malcolm's new movie that easily.
Wannabe record producer Wendy Gellar walked in. She had written a new rock tune and wanted to hear the boys' opinion. Thence she was going to try to submit it to the great rock stars and record studios.
Her favourite was still Drake Parker. He had been Wendy's impetus for becoming a rock music composer.
She had stalked that unfortunate teenage rock legend for over a week, just a few years ago.
Dustin explained unto Ashley a few details about the essence. He had not understood much of it, though.
Wendy's ears bugged out.
She imagined Drake flying across the stage during a concert.
1.4. Out On The Campus
Wendy rushed all excited across the camous. She saw her cousin AddieSinger, a new girl at Pacific Coast Academy. “Addie! Wait!”
Addie turned around. “Hi, Wendy?” She was surprised.
Wendy told Addie about the essence. “This is a great invention. It allows Drake to float across the stage, just fluttering his arms. That will be a revolution in the history of rock, if combined with appropriate tune and lyrics..”
Addie had a little crush on Drake, too. She conspired on and off with Wendy. Addi wanted to write the perfect lyrics for Drake's performances, letting Wendy take care of the tune. Addie was totally excited upon those news. “That's fantastic! But we need appropriate stage outfit, too.”
Wendy suggested, “why don't you ask your class-mate Jerry Crony from the club for textile creation?”
Addie would have preferred asking her old friend Geena.
But she lived across the continent.
Thus Addie agreed. “Jerry is scary. But he will do.”
Addie and Wendy high-fived, anticipating the perfect mini-musical for their idol Drake Parker.
