I guess I should write about my week Friday to Friday, since that's when I was supposed to do the day 26 entry.  So, here goes:

Friday - first second year show performance.  I was the house manager, so I was in charge of food and alcohol.  I made my first ever Costco run in the morning for chips, cookies, soda, and water, as well as several cases of wine.  Costco is amazing.  I've officially been converted.  Then on to the liquor store for kegs.  (We liquor people up for the second year show to perhaps smooth over some, uh, minor lapses in talent...)  I never directly encountered a keg in college, so you can imagine how delighted I was to be in charge of picking up four of them and schlepping them through New Haven.  The food and alcohol excursion took all day, so when I was finished with that it was time to shower, dress, and have dinner before heading to opening night.  It went AMAZINGLY.  Just about nothing went wrong; it was so much fun.  Because I had to be at the free clinic the next day, I sprinted out after the show was over and went to bed without passing go or collecting $200.

Saturday - alarm went off at 5am (ugh) and I was off to the free clinic, as I was session coordinator for the day.  One of the new co-directors was training that day, so she was there to help, which was great.  It was a pretty good day at clinic, with only a few concerning medical issues (putative pneumonia, unwanted pregnancy, possible active TB [<---that one is really not good, but not all that uncommon. Most of our patients are recent immigrants from Latin American countries where TB is endemic]).  I left around 3.  Drove home and enjoyed the usual post-clinic foot massage from Curt.  Showered, dressed, had dinner, went to night two of second year show.  It didn't go as well as night one, but was more than acceptable :-)

Sunday - slept past noon.  (If anyone's keeping score, that's 7 hours later than the day before.)  Amazing.  Did a little pulmonary reading, went to the strike of the set.  Met with new free clinic directors over dinner (it's so much fun to see all their enthusiasm...little do they know ;-)).  Worked out and went to bed.

Monday - class in the morning, then clinical session in the afternoon.  It was our second to last one (last one is this afternoon!!! yay!!), so we rounded with our preceptor and saw interesting physical findings (hugely impressive splenomegaly, Guillan-Barre).  After clinical wanderings, I decided it was time to be superficial and went for the first manicure of my life.  I'm going to make this a much more regular occurrence!  Then back to the library for more reading, dinner (leftovers) at home with Curt, worked out, more studying, bed.

Tuesday - class in the morning (more lung lectures), physical diagnosis didactic ("examining the patient with physical disabilities"), grocery store run.  I usually cook mid-week, so I shop on Monday or Tuesday.  The fridge had gotten pretty empty, so I picked up a truckload of food - and learned that the only grocery store in New Haven is closing in a couple of weeks!  Sad.  Library, worked out, bed.

Wednesday - skipped class today, which was delightful.  Did some cooking, worked out, library. Sorry, it was a very boring day.

Thursday - see day 25 entry.

Friday - class in the morning, random errands (bank, Target, pharmacy) in the afternoon.  Went to a friend's belly dance show in the evening.  We made enough noise that I don't think she'll ever invite us to anything again, but it was fun. Went to bed early so I could function at the free clinic the next day.

And there was my week!  Clearly my life is so varied and interesting... :-)
