happy birthday to me!
my birthday was thursday. it was surprisingly good for having classes from 9-9. got myself a $10 chocolate martini, and was treated to coffee and a makeover.
last night was great! drea and bill accompanied me to the symphony. they did the Carmina Burana. justin was supposed to come, but didn't show, that was the only downside to the night. the carmina was absolutely amazing. i followed along in the score i brought and was able to follow it better than when i performed it. yay for getting slightly better with my reading.
after the concert we attended the talk back with the musician who helped christine and me get out of the blocked garage a few weeks ago, jim, a bassoonist. he's so handsome! i need to see pictures of what he looked like when he was younger, so when i look at guys i'll know who will look like him in 20 years. some other symphony employees were there as well. there was a definite age gap in the audience members, college kids and silver tops only, no one in between. it was interesting to see the disparity in our opinions. in? of?
after that we went to the harp n fiddle. the kitchen closed at midnight, we got there just after, but they got me a piece of whiskey cake-which was insanely good! on our way in we joked wouldn't it be great if mr corr were performing? he was!! i ran in and gave him a hug. they sang happy birthday to me from the stage, then he sat with us during one of their breaks! he made fun of old students and bought us all a shot of jameson's. "Sam Marvit was a jagoff in high school and he's still a jagoff now."
when the bar closed at 2 we went to eat n puke and got the brekkist buffet. we were there till after 4, joking about replacing medical terminology with "kitten." "I have a brain kitten." "I have kitten stones." "I'm a skittenophrenic."
good times, good people! i hope tonight can measure up. going back to the harp n fiddle after the opera. last night i was wearing a party dress and pearls. tonight a gown and tiara!
