Deep Roy the Oompa Loompa, Ice Cream with my homies, and a Walk on the Beach in Galilee

Yesterday was, in fact, awesome. Going to see the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie with the Deppster in it with my homie Nikki was fantastico! The movie itself was very weird. We both agreed that the original was better, and were somewhat in shock at the fact that this one dude called Deep Roy played ALL the oompa loompas!!! And that the movie people took out some of the original songs like "I've Got a Golden Ticket"! Still, the part with the squirrels was by far one of my favorite scenes hehehe, and the characters in the movie used the word "BEASTLY" at least four times. Which made me and my homie Nikki crack up. Of course, we even found amusing bits in the previews, so that'll tell you that we were a tad hyper.
Anyway...the movie was weird, but we've yet to decide if we can call it anything other than that.

We did begin planning to film our own version of the story using our friends to play the different characters. I think we were set on Connor playing the oompa loompas, but were still toying around with the other parts. Though Spex is definitely Mike Teevee after he gets stretched out via taffy puller machine thingy, and Billy is most likely Charlie, and if we get Nikki stilts, she's Willy Wonka. Oh. And apparently Rachel has dibbs on the role of Granpa Joe. Hehehehe. Quite possibly Colleen might end up as the chief of the oompa loompas also. Comment if you have any thoughts on the rest of the characters we need.

Nikki, Rach, and I walked to Dot's for ice cream after the movie. I now of course craved chocolate, so I got Snickers ice cream, while Nikki chose mint chocolate chip, and Rachel chose Peppermint Patty. Good times walking home, with Nikki vowing never to get a large cone again-the scoops of yumminess began to melt the second we got outside. Granted, it was 90 degrees plus humidity.
Then Nikki reviewed how to play Scat and Knock-out Whist with me so I can practice and get good for the camping trip. hehehe. Maybe I'll beat Nikki's brother Jimbo again and win 2 bucks like last year...

Later on, my Dad came home early and decided he wanted to be spontaneous, and quest in search of delicious clam cakes and New England clam chowder. We ended up in Galilee RI, right near a beach, at a place named George's. Lemme tell ya, George knows how to do clam cakes and chowder, and there was even a live band that played old songs, most of which I recognized. And a good thing to note: tabasco sauce is excellent in chowder.

We walked a bit on the pitch black dark beach after supper, and watched lightning flash sporadically in the distance. It was peaceful to be on the dark sands, and watch the pinpricks of light from boats still at sea. I'll be honest: I didn't want to leave.

Today I awoke from more bad dreams, and will probably spend the rest of the day in bed reading The Three Muskateers. Good book so far. I don't expect to do anything else today because of feeling so rotten, but I'll try to make the best of it.
