ERROR!

I took exkitten's advice and decided to try out a Superdrug blonde toner (though not in the shade she recommended).  Unfortunately, having been experimenting with various brands and finding most of them to be terribly ineffective,   I dumped this purple gunk on my head, left it for a bit longer than stated* and have ended up with a slightly purple/grey barnet. YumYum.  Keepin it OAP y'all.

Luckily I was mostly amused (although wasn't about to contemplate going out in public or anything like that, even though it was only a tint in areas, not full on errooooor), and had a spare box of bleach kicking about.  I am evil to my hair, but  a) I can't really go to work on Monday with locks like this, plus I can't hide inside until it's washed out - I'm off to the 'Diff this evening you see, to celebrate my sister's birth!

HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY LAURA!!! - my larvely lil sister.

b) There were still quite yellow tones in some parts of my hair, so I'm using this as an opportunity to un-blue and yellow myself.  Let's hope I still have some hair left when I've washed the bleach out.  I shall report back with news.

On the plus side - the Superdrug toner does work a lot better than lots of other brands I've tried.  Some may say a little too well, but it's cheap and I think leaving it on for a couple of minutes while in the shower would work.

* I recently bought myself a lovely amp so that I can play music properly from my computer and ting.  I managed to get distracted this morning after noticing sound coming from only one speaker - uh oh.  After checking all connections, re-taping up connections, realising I'd wired the left speaker wires into the right connectors and correcting that ..  there was still only sound from one speaker, just this time it was the speaker on the other side.

I had five minutes of worry, thinking I'd picked up a shoddy amp, until I finally noticed that I had Winamp's balance moved all the way over to one side.  Well, how did that function get there? I certainly didn't fiddle with it! It wasn't me being stupid! Anyway, problem solved.

speakers not working, toner gone wrong, bleaching
