The week in review...
Since I haven't posted in a while, I thought I'd catch up and tell you what I did last week. Be warned that most if it is boring:
Monday - Hmm, I have no idea. I can't remember. I must have done something, but damned if I can remember what.
Tuesday - We had another blue norther roll in. This time, I took pictures, since some of you didn't know what I was talking about the last time that I referenced one. The camera really doesn't do the blue of the clouds justice, but you can see the storage building and the view from my carport. ;)

Wednesday - I talked to knight0fswords who's been ill with a bronchial infection recently. She'd been to the doctor, and she was feeling a little better. We talked about her job, Christmas, family... You know, just the usual sisterly stuff. ;)
Thursday - I called whitemunin to whinge over the truly awful romance novel that I'd picked up at a used bookstore. I don't usually read romance novels, and I hadn't read one since the 80's, so I was curious. My curiosity has been sated for another 20 years, I think. It was really, really bad. An asshole of a hero who desperately needed a good kick in the balls, a heroine who was captured four times in one book due to her own overwhelming stupidity, and truly awful sex scenes... ~sighs~ I suspect it's my own fault for selecting one with a pirate theme, but I'd recently bought the latest PotC dvd, so I was in a piratey mood. I read whitemunin selected portions, and we alternated between cringing and laughing. One quote: "Take me to our island of love." ~boggles~ I'm not joking; that really was a quote. How that tripe got published is beyond me. If someone had tried to post it as a fanfic, they'd get laughed out of fandom. whitemunin did give me a couple of recommendations for better romance novels, so I'm going to try to find those.
Friday - I had my hair cut, colored and styled. I also had my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. My color turned out really well (medium darkish brown with auburn highlights) and my hair is now blunt cut to just below my shoulders. (It was down to the middle of my back with lots of straggly ends before.) And it's nice to have neat eyebrows and a smooth upper lip. Hormones do women no favors as we get older, and considering that I can grow a pretty respectable mustache if I don't watch it, the upper lip waxing was overdue.
Saturday - I had to attend an extended family Christmas thing. My parents were there, as was knight0fswords and her beloved, but they left fairly early since she had started running a fever again. This is a yearly gathering the portion of the family that we only see once or twice a year. It was nice catching up, but after about an hour, we all remember that there are good reasons why we only see each other once or twice a year. We're not particularly a compatible group of people. The food is always good, though. My family may not be wealthy, but we produce really good cooks.
And now we're back to Sunday. I need to pick up around the house and do some writing, so I hope that you all have a wonderful rest of the weekend. ;)
