Adam Koszary - whom I worked alongside at the Bodleian - the social media specialist who brought the "absolute unit" meme to the masses, started blogging earlier (again?) this year. Yay!
But he's completely neglected to put an RSS feed on hew new blog. Boo!

During one of the periods today that Facebook wasn't down, a friend who makes use of the platform shared a Facebook post with me, which read:
Has anyone informed work/colleagues about being ENM and how was it received?
I've informed a few colleagues but I am considering informing

One of my favourite parts of my former role at the Bodleian Libraries was getting to work on exhibitions. Not just because it was varied and interesting work, but because it let me get up-close to remarkable artifacts that most people never even get the chance to see.

Eight years, six months, and one week after I started at the Bodleian, we've gone our separate ways. It's genuinely been the nicest place I've ever worked; the Communications team are a tightly-knit, supportive, caring bunch of diverse misfits and I love them all dearly, but the time had come for

As part of the preparing to leave the Bodleian I've been revisiting a lot of the documentation I've written over the last eight years. It occurred to me that I've never written publicly about how the Bodleian's digital signage/interactives actually work; there are possible lessons to learn.

I wasn't sure that my whiteboard at the Bodleian, which reminds my co-workers exactly how many days I've got left in the office, was attracting as much attention as it needed to. If I don't know what my colleagues don't know about how I do my job, I can't write it into my handover notes.

In October of this year - after eight years, six months, and five days with the Bodleian Libraries - I'll be leaving for pastures new. Owing to a combination of my current work schedule, holidays, childcare commitments and conferences, I've got fewer than 29 days left in the office.

Hot on the tail of Pong, I wanted to share another mini-project I've developed for the Bodleian: this year's digital advent calendar:
As each door is opened, a different part of a (distinctly-Bodleian/Oxford) winter scene unfolds, complete with an array of fascinating characters connected

Yesterday was World Digital Preservation Day (and Pong's 46th birthday), so I reimplemented Pong for the video wall at the Bodleian Libraries.
