Today, Dec. 21, was the Winter Solstice/Yule -- or yesterday, depending upon the calendar. Tonight was also the first of 8 nights of Hanukkah. In a few days it's Christmas, and the day after Christmas is the first of 7 nights of Kwanzaa. Although some online sources claim tomorrow (Dec. 22) is the date of the Winter Solstice (a.k.a. Yule), most sources, as well as folks who came in at work today, seem to agree that today is the date.
