July game day (late) & June bingo (even later!)
Here I am, making an embarrassing effort at catch-up again! *blush* I just wanted to record (for posterity? heh) these two very cool recent events involving games, friends, food and FUN!
This past Sunday was the monthly Game Day in my townhouse complex. I missed the June one -- my first miss in almost a year -- because I had a luncheon to go to. And it so happens that Game Day had a HUGE turnout, according to Lisa, my friend, neighbor and fellow Bingo Belle. Well, this month's turnout was pretty good too! :D
Along with Lisa and myself (duh) we also had Lisa's husband and kids, Ricky (a good friend of Lisa's kids), Dave H. and his kids, Mark R. (Lisa's and my neighbor), Pam M. (always a hoot and such a spunky yet classy senior; I've missed her!), Scott H. and his kids, and a man whom I recognize but I don't know his name, and his kids. beckerbuns had hoped to FINALLY make it, after wanting to come to a Game Day (with her kids) for probably 6 months or more!! However, again it didn't work out for her. :(
When I arrived around noon, a game of Sorry was in progress, but which eventually was abandoned when it became too tedious. (I've played it before but don't really like it). Then more people arrived, so most of us started playing Apples to Apples, which is always a fun hit. :) Usually I do quite well, but this time I didn't. That's OK -- I don't play games like this to win. I just want to play them and have a funny and fun time! Afterwards we played several rounds of Family Fluxx, a way-cool new version of Fluxx, my fave card game. Here is the homepage -- take a peek! While I (and many others) were involved in these games, some folks played games like Life, Mouse Trap and Connect Four with their kids. After I left, a game of Scattergories began, which I heard about later from Mark. I'm sorry I missed it, because I love Scattergories! I also missed Mark writing "jackass" as an example of "something found in the White House" when someone rolled a "J" on the die. LOL LOL!! Right on, Mark! ;D
The original date for the Bingo Belles' June game was Friday, June 20, but too many people couldn't make it, so we rescheduled for the 27th. It was a good choice!! :D We had 7 players: Becky S., Coleen, Ina, Jenny, Katheryn, Margaret and me. Becky R., Jeri and Lisa M. couldn't make it, but that's much better than what the absentee rate would've been on the 20th! *chuckle* I hosted the game this time, which I hadn't done in a month or two, and which was nice because I have air conditioning! At one point in the game, I'd won several gifts, but by the end of the night they all got stolen away. Jenny won the blackpot pot of $14, which was cool because she got to play with 3 cards instead of 2, seeing as her B-Day was in June. (Everyone gets an extra card during their B-Day month *cheer*)

I'm not sure who first had the idea of putting her place in front of her face. I think it was Jenny? *giggle* Anyhoo, when everyone did it I thought it was hilarious, so I took a pic! Here are Becky R., Margaret, Katheryn, Becky S., Jenny and Coleen.
I got a little creative with PhotoShop!! ;D I tried to get everyone's eye colour close to what I thought it was.
Of course, I had to take part in the plate fun as well! I'm wearing a baseball cap because I'd had a "bad hair day" (for real!) and hadn't had time to wash my hair before bingo. :(
