I don't think it's right to push people into having a straight marriage and having kids to "really" convince them out of it. Not only have you harmed the individual, but potentially the partner and kids as well. But look, live and let live. If people are dumb enough to believe that being gay is a mental illness (which was ruled out in the 50's by the AMA) or that it is unnatural, then they can do what they like. However, you should quit shoving your ideas on people who are clearly not interested in your agenda.
It becomes hatred when gay people become outcasts and the target of bullying in schools. It becomes hatred when a child is forced out of home for coming out to their christian parents.
