Munich, July 2013, part 1 - the airport.
Between 30/6/2013 and 9/7/2013 I was in Munich. I went there for EUCASS 2013, where I presented my work and I stayed for few days there.
Where do you start your trip? That's right, at the airport. Germans take the terrorist threat very seriously. Like, really, really seriously. For example, Israeli planes are met and escorted by a police armored vehicle. This one - it rolled next to us during the taxi when we landed and when we took off.
The terminal that we arrive to is also a special terminal for us. It even has Hebrew signs:
Unlike many other places (Istanbul, Vienna, for example), not only Israeli airlines are exiled to this terminal; Lufthansa and TUI flights also depart/arrive here.
They also did allow my bri cheese to be taken on board. It's cream, and therefore is not allowed.
