Foolscap Schedule

Sep 22, 2010 22:46

It's probably no secret how I'm spending my weekend. I'm off to Redmond for Foolscap 12.

Here's my schedule:

Fri 10 AM - 11 AM (Free with convention membership but requires advance sign-up)
Writing Workshop: Setting
Taught by Janna Silverstein and Amy Thomson

Fri 3 - 4 pm (Commons)
It Followed Me Home
What we collect and why. Round table discussion.
Jerry Minor, Sarah Scrivano, Janna Silverstein (What do you suppose I'll be talking about?)

Sun 10 AM - 11 AM (Alder Room)
What Do Editors Do?
Terms, definitions, scope of work done by independent and in-house editors. Information and Q&A.
Kyra Freestar, Andrea Howe, Tamara Sellman, Janna Silverstein

Sun 3 - 4 pm (Elk)
Nonfiction for Fiction Writers
Not The Chicago Manual of Style, but books that fiction writers should read for other ideas. Darwin's reading of Malthus influenced the idea of natural selection. Examples: The World Without Us, Greek Fire, Poison Arrows & Scorpion Bombs, and Ghost Map. This would be a round robin, something for the lobby or chairs, not a panel thing. Share.
Mark Ferrari, Bob Kruger, Carlton Rhoades, Janna Silverstein

jackwilliambell and I may be hosting a party Saturday night. Plans in development.
