Wrote a lot last weekend; didn't write as much during the week, mainly due to the energy required in the first week of a new job (about which I'll post at some point), and the time invested in social activities in the evenings. I'll be making up for lost time this weekend then hope to get back to my early morning pattern this week. In the meanwhile, however, I wanted to note a couple of things so I don't forget about them:
shawn_scarber made
an excellent, detailed post about his review-and-revision process that I thought was fascinating. I don't know if I have the patience for being that methodically meticulous, but such methodical meticulousness is a worthy thing indeed. He's also using a nifty widget he created to track his project progress that, were I a thief, I might steal at some point.
Got a call last night from
bravado111 with the news: If I want the Fairwood Writers Workshop, they want me. (In point of fact, he said that they'd love to have me.) I avowed that I did in fact, want them, thereby sealing the covenant. I have been promised, via e-mail, the traditional initiation, complete with baby oil andif they can find itthe goat they used the last time. I complained immediately that I wanted a new, fresh, pure goat. But then, I'm a spoiled little git.
And lastly...
Nicked from
kit_hartford, all for a good cause:
A long-time friend of mine, Loren Coleman, is holding an eBay auction for a spot in one of his forthcoming online novels. It's all in a good causefor the American Stroke Association, one of the charities Loren's wife Heather helps out.
