That's nice symbolism, actually. My job is so stable I can DESTROY MONEY.

::chuckle:: Well, someone destroyed money on my behalf. It's nice to know the lengths my friends will go for me.

First day on the job is often chaotic, even at companies that should theoretically know better. Hang in there -- it's bound to get better.

Hugs!

Look at it this way. The floor probably doesn't leak, and there's probably not a hole in the wall (since it was to the outside, I taped cardboard over it).

There's probably not a line item for ball bearing rodent trap fuel (one company I worked for had one ever since the episode of the mouse, the IBM printer, and the annual report).

The computer room ducting is probably not made out of cardboard boxes.

The company vice president probably does not lock the back door at night by tieing a rope around a ceiling beam and then around the doorknob (the door was a little out of whack and wouldn't close properly).

Part of your job probably doesn't involve checking that the tech running the gas generator when the power goes out continues to breathe.

And you probably don't get regular calls during storms from strangers asking if it's snowing.
