A few months ago I wrote a rather cranky column for Enlightenment in which I realized, with more than a little shame, that I'd been self-censoring my fannish conversations when interacting in more "boy" oriented fandom circles. I'd been doing it unconsciously and it had everything to do with "Honorary Guy" syndrome

I've never been really interested in cosplay (like to see other people's costumes and takes, but not interested in doing it myself) but now... kind of! A version of cosplay that's like Romana II in Destiny of the Daleks? Yum.

You're welcome! I know what you mean, I love looking at cosplayer but never had an interest. Now I can't stop imagining a really lush Eight coat, short skirt and really, really fabulous, kick-ass heels.
