yeah so havent updated in a while. been busy. Time to write about the movie! If you didnt know, Julia Roberts, Julia Stiles, and Kirsten Dunst are in a movie, some of which is being filmed at Wellesley College. Guess whos an extra! yup, me. and kristen. So I missed two days of school to film. Highlights:
*smoking gross fake cigarettes for hours on film
*wearing a corset!
*my pretty dress! (and ugly one too i guess)
*seeing that julia roberts and julia stiles are...normal (i never saw kirsten)
*wearing an ugly bright green beanie
*getting pushed by Julia Stiles in the movie with kristen
*having julia roberts come to the hall extras were in and pick names for the raffle...and be funny and joke around and hug winners (i wish i won)
*seeing people from my school whisper and stare because me and kristen were IN the movie!
*meeting cool wellesley college girls
*seeing cool maypole dancers
*hating recorders more than any other instrument ever
*ummm missing school!
*having lots of people come visit me and kristen at lunch
*getting pro hair and makeup!
*having people attack me to redo the pro hair and makeup between takes!
*being attacked between takes to have my stockings cut off because "what was wardrobe thinking, you can't wear stockings with loafers!"
*being confused for a college student by many
*being the "chaparoned" kids...ok that wasnt so great but its the law!
*makin a quick couple hundred
*finding that movie crew people are actually some of the nicest, most charismatic, funny, and understanding people around. They gave us water between takes on hot days, gave us cookies, made jokes, and everyone...from the camera people to the director to Julia Roberts, thanked us and said that we were what made the movie possible. That really meant a lot, considering all of the concieted, arrogant, and sleazy things you hear about. I'm sure much of it is true, but it was refreshing to know that they are actually good people too.
*the basic feeling of understanding what its like to be in a movie...the whole "rolling...take eight...action!" thing and redoing everything in short short bits and still loving it.
I wanna be a famous actress! Not like that would ever happen...although ive been taking classes and doing plays since i was little, im still not very good. Anyway, I sort of would rather do something more productive, helping people and such. I mean, if i was an actress, I could use money to help people, but I feel like I would rather be more direct. I sort of want to be a journalist for National Geographic or something like that, because I think cultural education is very important. I also want to do peace corps or something like that. Ohhh well i will find out someday. For now, I'm just enjoying my dose of "stardome" (aka hopefully some camera time, lots of walking around, being given the whole wardrobe/hair/makeup thing, and seeing stars. it was a cool experience.)
I was asked to go again next week, but so far kristen was not. I feel bad going...but want really badly to! If its just redoing a take of a scene that i was in and she wasnt, fine, but a totally new scene...guilt. Im trying to call and find out details. I'll see.
