Ok so... since i last posted so much has happened...
I have been working on set for our school Musical (The Secret Garden) and I must say that the sets rock!! They are 24 ft high and we have so many things we have to fly in and out i think i'm going to be running around backstage the entire time... I can't wait until we reveal it 2 the cast. Their reactions r sure to be epic. While building the set's i have made a couple of new friends... Two are recent college graduates (one of which is a alum of my current school) and the other is about my age or a little younger. They all know their stuff and they rock! The young guy (he does a lot of lighting stuff) is going to do Rent in october at a community college nearby so 2 everybody who lives here should think about coming with me and our amazing technical director (who is also working on the sets)
I went on a cruise to Alaska... It is soooooooooooooooooooo pretty up there! Ok get this... Most of you know that my mom hates warm weather ( that being said y we live weather we do is sooo hilarious) so we usually go on vacation to places where it will be cool during the summer, say England or alsaka. So we get to alsaka and they are in the middle of a heat wave. The week we are there i'm sure at least one of the places we went to broke it's highest temperature record... The only good thing was that it wasn't humid.. Seeing as last year when we went to England to escape the muggy weather here they were also in a heat wave, I think it's my mom's curse to always be in places that are hot...
I have a job!! I think... My computer teacher (Mrs. G) called me one day and said that some parent is going to pay me to fix their website!! I am so excited. I meet with her on monday to work out the details...
My charity work with Habitat is starting up again... We now have the shirts (14 huge boxes of them). I hope to god they all sell. I haven't actually seen them yet but our faculty adviser (Mrs.L) has and she says they look good. So i'm excited... For those of you who don't know why i'm excited it's because i basically ordered them by myself because my co-chair was in japan for like a month while the process was going on. We built our shed on thursday and friday. it was fun yet very sweaty. We had 2 amazing alums come and help us (they were the past construction chairs and boy do they rock). Strangely, of all the parts of my body to hurt after building a shed... My but is what hurts... Not my arms or legs, go figure... For those of you who don;t know i'm a little worried about our actually being able to build the shed this year... None of this years seniors really played a big part last year and i just hope we can get it done. The shed build helped realize my confidence a little but i'm a glass half-empty kind of person so I will just hope. To add to my pessimism about the project the habitat organization had raised the pprice of the house by $5,000 (or maybe it's 10... whatever it's a whole lot of money) dollars which means that I as co-fundraising chair have to raise more money than ever!! All i can do is pray (although i'm not quite sure who to pray to because my religious views are a strange messed up mix of cultures, but that's a topic for another post..)
School starst back in less than a week... I have until thursday until i become a school drone... ick... I have read my english summer reading (and is it just me or do none of those god damn short stories have a proper ending??). I have also read 4 books off the HASLIN list , only one of which was interesting enough to do a project on which i'm sure Mrs. B will make us do... I have yet to start on my History summer reading ( i guess i better get a move on with it). I saved it till last because our teacher has said that he will for sure give us a quiz on our first day back... I really want to get my schedule. I want to know if i have a new teacher for chem( which i hope i don't cause i like the old one). I also want to know what classes i have with friends. I have done all of my school shopping but have failed to find my trademark spacemaker bag which saddens me... but I am going to use a pencil bag that was given to me as a gift and will remember the dear friend who gave it to me everyday because of it which is a good thing. It actually fits most of my stuff but i'm going to have to stop carrying every type of pen, pencil, and marker around with me. I actually got a planner this year and i hope it helps me get organized. With 6 classes (3 of which are APs), I'm just hoping i survive this year and i don't even dare to dream about my intended schedule for senior year... Rumor has it that we are getting 2 new guys this year! I find it funny how we all get really excited and get our hopes up for a wonderful smart, talented hottie but all we ever get are worthless idiots... To add to my stress This year i have the musical (which has turned into my baby) , habitat and the literary magazine (all of which are going to take up a considerable amount of my time)... I hope i can be a good leader in these clubs. To top it off a certain crazy freshman english teacher is lobbying for me to join another club that is one for diversity (i'm all for diversity but the reality is that I am way too stretched out already and if i add any more to my plate i'm afraid that i will explode or get an A- (both of which are equally horrible fate, yes i did put that in their for you guys to make fun of me so go ahead ;P)... And a certain senior twin who took me to prom also wants me to become part of computer club which i can't for the same reasons as the other one... I will do the competitions but committing my time to the club is something i can't do. On the brighter side of things... we are UPPERCLASSMEN this year!!! Yay for us! We survived half of high school! I didn't realize that i would get a big locker this year until like a week ago (i know i am soo smart lol)... I can't wait to go back to see everybody but i hate to think about the work that is going to come along with it...
