It's funny, I always seem to be updating this thing in the wee hours of the morning. (I just moved my laptop off of my "desk" and onto my lap, only to spill a glass of water right where my laptop had been a second before. I'm getting better at not destroying the things I love.)

Today was a good day. It started off pretty boring, but around 2pm I got fed up with lying on the couch and decided to go rollerblading. That initial decision led to a four hour trip down to the lakefront, all the way to the art museum and back.

Along the way, I stopped at a book sale, then stopped and fangirl squealed at a movie poster for The Secret of Kells (which has to be one of the most gorgeously animated movies of all time), then I discovered a short cement trail that led to the beach. It was fairly secluded, and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't seen it from the sidewalk above first. The ride down it was terrifying. Not only was it sloped steadily downward, but it also hugged the natural coast; which meant that if I had fallen to the right, I would have plummeted down through trees and brush and into oncoming traffic. I had my brakes on almost all the way down. I rested for a little while after that, but then I kept on skating until I made it to the Calatrava.
Some highlights from there and back to my apartment again where:

Meeting a corgi
Seeing an albino duck
Eating a cheeseburger and then custard
Buying a book for a dollar

The second I locked my apartment door behind me, my friend Lita called and asked if I wanted to go out and do an impromptu photo shoot. So out I went again, but in my car this time.

We walked back down to where I had already been that day, and she took awesome photos of me. On our way back to her place, we stopped and found a geocache, the first for both of us. Then we decided that we would go out and look for more. By now it was at least 8 or 9pm, but still we walked downtown. We went to the musical park in front of Discovery World, played around and danced under the full moon. We never did find another geocache, but the trip was still worth it.

On our way back, we saw two men get arrested, for what I have no idea.

Finally, I made it back to my apartment. I watched Atlantis: The Lost Empire. It was pretty damn awesome for being post-90s Disney.

Yeah, great day.
