As my arteries are recovering...

Ladies and gentlemen,
We have again conquered the hamdog. The reason that I failed to announce the first taking of this culinary concoction was the fact that neither Andrew nor I actually accepted the challenge of eating an entire one. We split one last time as Noah deftly demonstrated his eating prowess. It was partly the ease with which he devoured said food that convinced the rest of us that we were capable of surmounting the epitome of grease.

A bit of a foreword: I first read about the hamdog freshman year in an article on one of my frequented websites. After referring back to the article in order to properly explain the anatomy of the hamdog,

I discovered the address of Mulligan's was a mere 20 minutes from my house. We had to go...

This trip began with near-empty stomachs for all, as we knew the challenge ahead of us was great. James (my brother), Noah, Andrew, Liz (Andrew's girlfriend), and myself all got into my car, blaring pump-up music in honor of the great sports tradition of pre-game excitement. A half an hour later, we were confronted by the same bartender (which, might I add, remembered Noah and Andrew drinking last time we came, and therefore assumed I was 21-Yay for beer) and we made the commitment. Four Hamdogs coming up, no turning back now.

After they arrived, we took a moment to prepare ourselves for the inevitable ingestion of fat incarnate. And thus began the hardening of arteries. Noah finished first, but not without competition from James and me. It was a matter of mere seconds that put him as time winner, but I think that in the end, we all lost in terms of life-expectancy.

But, let me be the first to tell you that it's worth it. If you think that a hot-dog dipped in nacho cheese, rolled in ground beef, deep fat fried, and topped with chili and a fried egg is wrong and or disgusting- you are sadly mistaken. Whether it's the impeccable combination of fatty foods, the inclusion of most food groups, or the assortment of meat products present, it is among the best of things I have ever put in my stomach.

For reference, also see Noah's LJ entry about the first trip. Check back later for when I figure out how to post my pictures.
