the design is definitely derivative, but I don't think ripping off someone's code is really a big deal so long as the finished product isn't a ripoff--I mean, how many times did we (okay, I; maybe you didn't!) do that in 1997 & 98 to find out how things worked, and then shift it from there 'til it wasn't recognizable as someone else's, or at least wasn't a direct ripoff, even if the structure was similar? It's certainly not professional of them & it might be lacking integrity, but I don't think it's necessarily wrong; and in this case it's not a design that's obviously uniquely ONLY YOURS, even though I definitely see the similarities/ripped-off-parts. I'd say a simple email is par the course, but it's not really worth worrying much about..

not harsh at all - in fact i was hoping that someone might take the perspective that this really isn't that big of a deal. i have emailed them, so i'm just in a holding pattern until i hear back from them ( ... )

i have absolutely nothing planned, other than a brief dinner at my pop's place in order to make up for a missed dinner invitation yesterday. otherwise i'll probably just hit the gym, go home and do some work.

love parade doesn't sound too bad - nothing that interesting ever happens in wilmington! be sure to turn heads with that harmonica of yours, and maybe it'll be the catalyst to vaulting your minor crush into something special. hehe

and eventually we do need to sit in person and talk!

Thing is, I'm still kind of ambivalent re: the minor crush. Out of practice on how these things work after such a goddamn long relationship--I still haven't really dated anyone, etc, & though the idea's pretty nice, I can't actually imagine anyone I *want* to date.

I meant to say, also, email/etc me your address & I'll send you a valentine!

You're in Wilmington? I totally had no idea--how near DC/Baltimore is that? We should totally hang out--I'll be in DC in May, and definitely again sometime later in the summer!
