I am half tempted to write Martin a letter and say "I'm noregrets-notears-noanxieties at Tumblr. Please follow me?"
But yeah. It would be awesome to have a fic reviewed by one of them I can just imagine this to one of my Wholock fics: "Your Sherlock seems different from how I portray him, but I like him. I think he and Amy would get along smashingly."
I think in this day and age, it's unrealistic for us to think that the actors, writers, etc don't know about fanfic, tumblr and all of the other fannish activities. Case in point, look at Supernatural.
The actress who plays Adelle on Dollhouse apparently knows about the fanvids and the Adelle/Dominic ship. I can't recall if it was implied that she'd watched some vids or not.
To be honest, I don't think that they'd read/watch/etc the fannish activities or at the very least admit that they did. It also could get them into hot water if someone admitted to doing so, especially if it ever happened where an episode had anything remotely similiar to someone's fic.
Good point, very good point. And I think just me doing fic is probably safe. I just worry because I have an R rated sex scene involving Sherlock in one of my fics and I'm not too fond of it anyway and I'm all "Please don't let anyone on the cast read it."
I personally think that you don't have anything to worry about. I am sure that despite the R rating you don't wax poetically about someone's naked parts or anything like that.
Even if a cast or crew member of any fandom read one of your fics, I really don't think you''d have anything to be embarrassed or worried about. I mean I've read some things in the Supernatural fandom that has nearly left me scared for life. I can't ever see you writing something that would have the same reaction.
That's got to be interesting. I know a lot of friends of mine won't write fanfic for the show because the author doesn't want fanfic written for the books. I've always wondered if people do it anyway.

Of course, that's if he likes it...

The SUpernatural fandom has some weird fans. If Jared and Jensen and Misha can handle their fans, I have hope for Benedict and Martin.
