I've been watching and reading about the current health care reform debate going on in the US with something akin to stupified amazement.

Usually Canadian politics is really, mind numbingly, totally boring.  But there's been a few developments in the last week or so that aren't so much boring as they are.... mind blowing.

So the Liberal leader, Stephane Dion, is stepping down from his position because not only did his party fail to win, they actaully lost seats.  And you know, I think that's kind of sucky.  I didn't like Dion that much but the poor guy didn't have much of a chance. So the Conservatives won a minority government.  Not really that big of a surprise.  The entire campaign everyone was talking about Harper as PM.  No one thought anyone else even had a chance which kind of irked me.  But it's nice that it's a minority becasue the thought of him with a majority is something I find vaguely scary.
