Very interesting. Some very interesting writing. Still not sure about how I feel about it because even in the middle of the work she mentions that no matter how often she works this out, it never remains settled. So, in a way, the semi-happy ending feels forced or temporary.
Still, I've never clicked with the Atlas myth before, and now it speaks to me. That is a notable accomplishment.

This was very enlightening, and ends with a theory that the mental problems and emptiness afflicting modern life is because we have destroyed our myths and have nothing left to protect us from the bleak truth of the universe. And that, perhaps, that is the job of fiction writers. To create those new myths. A seductive premise.
