Green was decked out rather interestingly. A lot had happened in Kanto since he left Smash Academy. He was lounging by the finger foods, packing up the gym had him living on instant ramen for a week.

"Looks a whole lot better than the ramen, huh?"

WHO DID THAT MYSTERIOUS VOICE BELONG TO-- oh it wasn't a mysterious voice at all, it was just Venusaur.

"Tastes so as well." He replied, a plate already full in his hands. "There's only so much fake chicken one can before you just need to get your hands on the real thing."

Oh gosh look who else was here. And technically crashing -- dropouts tended not to be included on the reunion invite lists. But anywhere that Green went, Char followed, and how could he possibly resist revisiting the stomping grounds of his youth? All the brawls held under the flagpole (which had lifted its fair share of students, also thanks to him)... the forest that Rasputin used to roam... the cla-- okay, the classrooms didn't hold a lot of nostalgia for him. But it was still nice to revisit the place.

"You guys oughta try huntin'. It might not be real chicken, but Pidgey still tastes a lot like it."

...A pause.

"Don't tell Pidgeot I said that."

Venusaur's laugh was only mildly uncomfortable. "I think I'll pass on that particular meal, as lovely as it sounds."

Of course, if the rest of them were there, Nyx just had to tag along. Even if she, must like Char, technically had no right showing up. She'd always had some trouble with rules.
"Dreams are nice enough. Ain't hard to come by, never gonna run out. Plenty of different kinds, could eat nothin' but them 'till the day I die," She snickered, liked she'd made some great joke, "An' I still wouldn't have tried 'em all. 'Course, ain't much help t'you."

"Must get tired of the nightmares filling the city these days." He scoffs. "Always the same thing every night? Must be a bore, I'm tired of noodles after just a week!"

"Ain't all nightmares, boss."

Not that Char could really speak for anyone else. Things hadn't always been pretty, sure. He'd had his fair share of loss, same as anyone else in Kanto. Rasputin had since passed on to the spidery afterlife, and one day Char's phone calls and emails to Aiden simply stopped being answered.

But, sappy as it sounded... things weren't so bad. He still had Nyx. He was right by Green's side. Maybe it was just the stupid little Pokemon part of his brain talking, but he had his lady, his trainer, his family... and plenty of asses to kick. Really, that was all he needed.

"Oh, no. I'd never get tired of it, Boss. Even if it ain't nothin' but nightmares, it's always interestin'. And no matter what, s'better than that bullshit you been callin' food lately." She shrugged. "Sides. Every once in a while, someone's happy."

Green wasn't the only one who had taken to wearing coats with fur on them.

"Hey."

"Well, well, if it isn't Lash." He grinned behind his shades.

"I see you haven't changed that much," she began, "but your team seems to have gotten a major update from last time I saw them."
