Aiden was snuggling with me on the couch.

Aiden: You're hot.
Me: Yes. I. Am! Thank you.
Aiden: You are one hot mama. (winks)

Kids getting older is so cool.  Especially when they are nice to you.

Oh, also when they do the laundry.

For about 6 months the boys have had jobs around the house.  One job is taking laundry from the third floor down to the ( Read more... )

E was telling me that Turkish kids not only have to go down to the market to do the shopping, but that sometimes childless neighbours would come around and ask, "oh, can your little Emirhan just pop down to the corner and pick up a few things for us?" Apparently this is normal in Turkey, which made me start taking notice of which neighbours have children of market-going age.

Kudos for getting compliments! Admittedly, I'm very fair complected. About a week ago I was lounging around in pj pants and a tank top. 4 year old wanted to go out and shovel. Says to me: "Lets get you a coat. Nobody wants to see your skin. It's too bright." Nice.

You're gonna hate me, Adrianne, because he now INSISTS on pushing the cart at the grocery store - he will not let me, because he "doesn't want me to get tired." He also puts all the groceries into the cart for me (heavy juice boxes, laundry detergent on the bottom of the cart), loads everything onto the conveyor, and puts everything away at home. I do help, but he really truly would rather do the entire thing by himself. He is just an extremely helpful soul.

hahahah! i certainly don't hate you for having such a sweet kid. in fact, my 5yr old son is pretty sweet, too. just not when it comes to me! he's genuinely concerned when someone is hurt or crying and stuff, but he certainly has NOINTERESTWHATSOEVER in helping his mom out with chores or grocery shopping.

so i'm just happy for you, i don't hate. :)
