After one nasty NaNoWriMo year where I got so much done that I felt compelled to spend the last few days writing 20,000 words to finish, I promised myself I wouldn't do that to myself again.
In my defense, it will help me get back into that daily writing pattern I enjoyed for all of one week during the summer. That one week was a very good one, and I want to have more structure in my "free" time. I think those sorts of things can bleed over into the rest of my life as well.
None of that negates the fact that I'll be doing wedding planning stuff all month, celebrating two big Thanksgivings (on two different weekends, too) in addition to the normal stuff I have to do. That said, I know I can do. Whether or not it actually works in the end in another story altogether.
Too bad I can't apply everything I just wrote to the 50,000 word minimum.
