Ryo Overload - Part 1

Apr 24, 2011 22:56

Ever since the first episode of Inu Wo Kau Iu Koto aka Sky Tree, and all of last week with me checking out K8's 8Uppers convcert DVD and new singles and PVs to catching up on NEWS' LIVE LIVE LIVE concert DVD, it's been more like Ryo overkill. I must have this huge grin frozen in place just from those multiple viewings.  I'm enjoying his first leading role as husband and father; I'm giddy with his darn cuteness in the 8Uppers con; I'm surprised by his silliness with NEWS in their LIVE LIVE LIVE con. There's just so much love that I have for this guy, so much to say that it will have to be split into 3 parts. Seperate posts, of course. Part 1 starts off with Sky Tree.

Papa Ryo is so much love!!! All those promos earlier in the month with those two kids were so cute. And my gosh, those two kids are honestly so adorable. The little boy calling Ryo "Nishikido-sama" in one of the promos was too funny. And everything about the little girl is precious. Then we get to the promo where Ryo and Asami partake in a guessing game. I really like seeing those two alone, without the kids. This clip was sweet to me because it showed that Ryo was actually quite comfortable with her. Teasing her, joking with her. And I like that she just kept smacking him, lol. But man, how that little laugh of his turned into a lmao one when he told the truth about owning one of those ball-things. Or at least that's what I perceived to be said. ^.^'

Then I got around to checking out the scans of Sky Tree. It also warms my heart to see him comfortable with the little kids. Especially the girl. That pic of the him with the cell plone and the girl leaning in to see it too. Her little hand on his knee... so cute! There's another pic with him standing behind her. She's holding onto the forefingers of his hands. Precious! >_<

Now to the episodes aired so far. Ah, first thing. I honestly don't care whether or not this drama is good or bad. I'm not really a dorama fan anymore. Like I said before, I only watch  Ryo's drama because I follow whatever projects he has. That includes activities with K8, NEWS, and his solo stuff like doramas. With him taking lead in this drama, I think I'm going to enjoy every bit of his scenes. Yes, I will critique him. There are also certain scenes I'd like to see, which I will get to later. And you know me, there will always be speculation about character developments and relationships. So with all that stuff out of the way, let's get to the good stuff.

Honestly, not that many good scenes to me until closer to the 2nd half of the first episode.
-- And of course, the first one that comes to mind is when he got punched, lol. With his daughter witnessing it, all he said was "Hey." Is it me or does she have this look in her eyes that's so reminiscent of Ryo? When she looks up with just her eyes, she has this killer look that Ryo's known for. How weird is that???
-- That scene when Mako first brought the puppy to Papa was cute. Who else noticed that Ryo almost knocked the briefcase off the railing? LOL.
-- Lastly, I really like the very little interaction between husband and wife, without the kids around. Though did she have to be scrubbing the toilet for that scene? That ruined it for me...

So after this first episode, my mind automatically started brainstorming ideas for this family. What problems could come up with Sky or the children, or what could drive the couple apart if that were to happen. Then my thoughts really went to work. "Oh, I really hope they get into a heated argument in which Papa Ryo is forced to sleep on the couch. Oh, I hope we get a scene that shows the couple asleep next to each other! And if that Doctor tries to steal your wife away, man up and fight for her because honestly you kinda seem like a weak guy right now." But yeah, two of my wishes came true in the next episode.

-- Love the opening scene to be able to see Hubby and Wifey asleep together. >_<
-- The breakfast scene where Papa Ryo lost his share of the weiner, though you know a nice Papa like him did it on purpose. But Wifey is also sweet and gives her other half to him. I feel like the writers and producers are subtly playing up this couple. Little things like that to show the bond between husband and wife.
-- The scene at the door is actually a really cute family scene too. I noticed that Papa's hand went around Mako's shoulders to comfort her. To me, that looked more like Ryo in a natural interaction with the girl. Then I squealed when I saw Wifey's hand on Hubby's shoulder. Then when Papa and the two kids were peeking out the door, how he kept looking back at his wife. ^_^
-- Now we get to the heart-breaking scene when Mako witnessed her Papa stealing from the savings. I feel that Ryo did a really good job here. He seems to nail the "uncomfortable scenes" spot on. Now I'm gonna be a bitch to Papa Ryo here, but why go out drinking at all if you can't afford to? Yuuji, not only are you weak, but you're also an idiot.
-- Now we move onto to the scene when Papa couldn't scold Masaru because he committed the same crime as Papa himself. And Mako witnessed her Papa being a hypocrite and a liar.
-- Wifey became fed up with Hubby not playing his part as Papa, and retired to bed first, slamming the door in the process. Yay, another scene that I wanted. Hubby forced to the sofa, unable to join Wifey.
-- To the scene when Sachiko (yeah, I'm swiching to names now) told Mako that they have to return Sky to the original owner. So when Mako refused completely, Sachi looked to Yuuji for support. He looked away, unable to add words again. He's disappointed in himself, and so is his wife.
-- And we get towards the end with Yuuji and Sachiko trying to find a better place for Sky at that Animal Hosiptal from the first episode. That guy who keeps talking about dogs dying, he may seem cold, but I think he does that purposely to test how passionate they are about dogs. Bringing up the fact that the original owner isn't out there searching for Sky, he's playing the pity card.  So when he said that dogs don't choose their owner and that Sky was chosen by inconsiderate owners, you could see something ignite inside Yuuji. That guy was totally dissing Yuuji as an owner and a parent.
-- When Yuuji said that they would keep the dog, I was expecting a more dramatic scene. Something like picking up Sky with one arm, taking his wife's hand, and walking out of the room without a single word.
-- Onto a scene that I do love, Hubby and Wife walking alone! Well, Sky was there too, but the kids weren't. And we finally hear Sachiko call him by name. "Yuu-chan." I am really liking this couple. It's funny, there were plenty of scenes Ryo and Asami had together in Orthros, but their alone time as husband and wife now warms my heart much more.

After this epsiode and after the preview for the 3rd episode of Sachiko fainting, I am certain we'll be getting much more warm moments from the couple. I want more affection too, like holdings hands or a peck on the cheek, But I don't see that happening...yet.

I also can't believe how crazy I am about RyoxAsami right now. I mean, RyoxAya will always be my top Ryo coupling, but RyoxAsami has grown stronger over the years. It's been 3 years since that scene in Last Friends where Eri opened the door to find Sousuke there instead of Takeru. That scene alone started my RyoxAsami shipping. Eri was curious about his overly passionate love and even offered words of advice. Then they co-starred again in Orthros in which they became somewhat good friends. Now they're playing as husband and wife! My RyoxAsami shipping heart is happy. So when am I gonna get my happing ending for RyoxAya?

ryoxasami, ryo-chan, orthros no inu, ryoxaya, last friends, skytree
