After I have quite a dumb blonde moment and forgot my car's plate number and had to rush to the fifth floor to check on it, the lady who answered the call to the workshop assured us that the mechanic will come to Amcorp Mall in about 30 minutes. While I texted my boss to tell her that I'll be taking a half day leave to settle this whole car thing, I turned to Mona and said it was okay if she had to go back to work via taxi.

"It's okay, I won't leave you," she said.

I was quite touched by this show of solidarity and it quite made up for her abandoning me to bloodthirsty ducks earlier.

"Why thank--"

"Of course I'll have to tell everyone that I had to stay with you, that you were quite lost without me. You were hysterical, let's tell them you were in hysterics when your car won't start. You were crying and running in circle, and I had to hand you a paper bag to breathe in. Tell them I was a pillar of strength through the whole ordeal, and it is through my awesomeness that we made out of this alive."

THIS IS MY FRIEND AND COWORKER IF I AM CRAZY THEN IT IS CLEARLY THE PRODUCT OF MY ENVIRONMENT

I'm still grateful that she stuck through it with me though. I'd be more inclined to throw up my hands and give up if I was alone.

Once the mechanic arrived we directed him to our car and it took him merely 20-30 minutes to fix my car. Apparently the rubber ring on the break pedal that prevents the brake lights to go on unless the pedal is pressed is broken so that's why the lights were on, which in turn killed the battery. We were so grateful and even more so on my part when it cost only RM50 for the whole thing (I actually withdrawn RM500 just in case it was something more serious). Plus he was a nice guy and Mona and I decided that a mechanic is quite a nice catch if one is looking for a husband. He did warn me that I can't turn the engine off because he can't guarantee that it can be turned on again without further recharge, which is fine by me because it means HOME FREE!

After I dropped Mona off ("Remember! Pillar of strength!"), I had a great time driving home, cruising through the highway and arriving home safe and sound. So concludes my epic day at the office, which happened outside the office which goes to show that working in an office sucks. Oh and good friends, old and new, are precious, even when they're clearly mental.
