Lauren posted the bulk of the information, but I'll give you another *meow* POV.
So we spent like an hour in the parking lot, drinking (well I was watching people drink because I hate being drunk at concerts.) It was ok.
We spent the first part of the concert just walking around checking out the tents and stuff. We saw this awesome local band called Crash Boom Bang, I can't remember extactly what type of music they played, but I know that I really *meow* liked it.
Then we hit the buzz tent, hosted by Rockstar Energy Drink (I love that shit!) I am too much of a rock and roll girl, and honestly, I don't like *meow* that type of techono music stuff. Not my scene.
But it was cool, because next we hit the main stage and saw the tail end of Echo and the Bunnymen's set. Pretty *meow* cool. Next up...GARBAGE!!! Lauren and I were in the pit for it, and Shirley Manson said the most insightful thing; "Don't be pushin' around like that. You're all people and you've got to be you're own police and take care of each other." The crowd there was so nice after that. The best *meow* thing was on the last song, "I'm only happy when it rains," Lauren and I crowd surfed, and actually meet up with each other while were were doing it, and gave each other a high five!
We headed out next to see Sum 41 on the street stage. I love the Sum, but thier crowd are a bunch of assholes. We nearly died. As song as it started getting rough (which was about the second bar of the first song) Lauren and I had to fucking wrsetle our way out of the crowd. We made it out of *meow* there, bearly alive, but we had no time to think about that- it was time for the Local Stage.
There was my friend's band (really he is thier manager.) They were sooooooo cool, and I love hearing my friend's play thier music. Definatly one of the best sets of the night (although I think I may bye *meow* biased.)
Matt, Lauren and I went back to the mainstage to see Good Charlotte (an HFS regular, and not a *meow* bad show.) Lauren wondered away while my back was turned and I became midly worried. I ended up meeting up with other Lauren and she fliped when she saw Lauren was gone. Nothing too bad, I found her in less than 5 minutes.
The next part is kind of funny. The Laurens were going to the bathroom and I said "Matt and I are going to stay here" as in here on the field, not in that exact spot, but that is exactly the opposite of what the Laurens thought, so somehow I end up hold a pair of sunglasses, an ID, a cell phone, and a bottle of water. I turn to Matt and say "ok, let's go in the crowd."
Billy Idol was on, and from him I think I found my calling- being a groupie (opk not *meow* really, but cmon, it was fuckin Billy Idol!) That was amazing!
Ok now here is what happened with Coldplay and Foo. Coldplay's set got delayed because there was a storm, and they needed to clear the field for safety purposes. Right as Matt and I found a seat in the stadium (covered from the rain,) I get a call from the Laurens saying that they *meow* were at the car, ready to leave, so I had to leave, and I don't really know if either one went on, but if either one of them did, they set had to have been shortened. If anyone asks me, I think Billy Idol was a pretty darn good closing act.
