Ratings - how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
This question makes me laugh. I write almost exclusively NC-17 fics...I don't think there is anything higher. Even things that squick most people I tend to be okay with - though I don't necessarily write them. Not really into watersports or scat, of course, and very hardcore torture porn can be a bit over the top, but I've still read some of those...and to be honest, if we're counting RP, I've written some too. So with that said, I am certainly comfortable with writing NC-17 and I have never found ANYTHING that I've written to be G-rated. PG maybe. Some character will say "fuck" in there somewhere and there's usually at least the hint of sex or violence if not full on graphic scenes.
