Your frustrations are understandable. anonymous May 26 2005, 20:49:06 UTC
Carla,
Certainly, this is something I have come to find as I get older as well. I do not believe that you are the only one that feels this way out there, although it may seem that way. People tend to mask these frustrations you've listed differently, and yes we've all experienced at least one of these. I doubt any words I give you will be some sort of resolve for your irritation at the way some things might seem hopeless and not worth your while. But maybe a statistic will. A recent study my school did on depression states that 8 out of 10 teenagers will atleast 1 time a month, have a spell of mild depression. It isn't a serious thing, it is normal. As teenagers develop, and 'discover' who they are (what they enjoy, defining their individuality, what they want in their friends), a series of chemical changes actually causes sometimes slight depression. You might have already known this, but I feel that if you didn't it might comfort you to know that it is not anything wrong with you, it is what you're essentially becoming. Those things that you are frustrated with will find resolution and clarity, you will know why things are the way they are when you are older. It might seem cliche, but it is very true.

A couple other things:
--- "I'm frustrated that I care too much about friendships and relationships to the point where I seem clingy." I wish that there were more people who valued friendship as much as you do out there, because friends like this are really, 'the siblings god never gave us'. You may not like your clingyness, but your true friends do, and I can bet that they feel the exact same thing about how they care about their friendships.

--- "I'm frustrated that people are so vague in livejournal entries that it loses its purpose." Many people's entries may seem vague because they intend it to be for a specific person, but they want the rest of their friends to know at least what is going on. It may be inane to you, but not so nebulous to another. But yes, we all have complaints about that.

I hope that you find some peice in the near future.

p.s. I don't know you too good, but I still love you :)
