luthienelf's Come Alive
Coda to 5x05, for when Dean hands over the keys to Sam. Simple but warm, it's the tiny shy smiles on their faces that do me in, highly recommended!
rogoon07's Sunset (artist is also available as rogoon07 but posting is more regular at her dA account)
Sam and Dean at the beach, heads knocking together softly, the towel around their soldiers. Seriously, can you see my heart melting? Angsty, yes, but mostly about the love they find in each other. The muted blues are lovely. It's well-worth checking out her gallery if you haven't already!
seabound's Bound
Kinky schmoop, oh yes! Tender really is the only word you can use to describe this really. The artist has a wonderful movement to her lines and the lighting is perfectly romantic. I love the way she's rubbed in a bit of red to their elbows and noses and cheeks, flushing ftw!
kkareuk Supernatural gallery
Just discovered this artist recently, she has a cliched (and I mean that as a compliment) sense of romance and young-love which I adore. The scene in this piece (note: dA account holders only due to mature content) especially is gorgeous with Sam's hands on Dean's hips, Dean's hands in Sam's hair, and all that golden, golden lighting <3!

ellaine | Supernatural Gallery (gen)
Ellaine has an amazing range which most people could only hope to achieve. From the humorous to the symbolic to the dark, her work is always perfectly composed and coloured. I have a huge love for 'Silent Lucidity', Sam resting his head on Dean's shoulders kinda breaks my heart a little.
gnatkip | Supernatural art tag (gen)
This artist is always experimenting with new things and new media which kinda makes me jump for joy. Most of her work is hand-drawn but her recent Trickster manip really caught my attention. It's wonderfully creepy and threatening, and yes be doubly sure to check out the (hand-drawn) cracky Fuzzy Velvet Castiel too (all the flowery detail is love!).
dauntdraws (or dauntingfire over at dA) (gen, J2)
Daunt has an epic style. It reminds me of the best type of graphic novel printing: smooth lines, coloured in with monochromatic flats, and the brilliant cross-hatching/halftone that she works into her shading. Check out Dead Winter - you can feel the cold coming off the piece. She's also working on a Supernatural comic book which is very exciting, friend her to stay updated :D.
...Which leads me nicely to onto my next set of recs.
Black & White Uniques
ileliberte : Untitled Art
Everyone can recognise ileliberte's style immediately (if you haven't heard of her, she's a must!) but this one is slightly different from her usual style. It's quirky and unique, I love the suspicious faces on the boys and the slightly geeky haircuts. The shadows are sharp and perfect, the clean simple lines just seem to flow nicely to the eye too.
ncajayon's Supernatural Pin-up Inks
I know male fan-artists do exist (especially over on dA) but it's very unusual to see ones making Supernatural art. Ncajayon is a professional comic book artist but he also happens to like Supernatural too - this art piece is very distinct with a rugged appearance, the collage is composed unusually too, and the artist has the most amazing amount of the smallest cross-hatching - the patience I tell you!
a_starfish's Art for 'Earth' prompt
I think action scenes are hard to pull off but this piece screams PLOT to me. It's a mix of painting (mostly) and manipulation with a wonderful sense of space, light, and deep shadows - check out the WIP's, it's all very interesting to learn how she did it! Plus, if you're a hurt!Dean fan, this ones for you :D

In terms of comparison to the other art recs here, this doesn't seem all that unique but in the world of black/white wallpapers, this set has always stuck out. The graphics artist uses the right amount of contrast and dusty yellow weathering to the wide-angle shots of Dean which have the most amazing amount of detail. Simple wallpapers really, but quite cool to have on screen. The preview really does not do it justice - check it out in it's largest size!
woodstarling's Bloody Mary (this art piece is only available at dA it seems, but woodstarling does post doodles over at her community wood_works if you're interested)
An art piece in a comic book style panelling, woodstarling uses a huge amount of black in this which slowly devours more and more of the detail in this until the last panel, but that's part of the beauty! It's a dark scene for a horror episode and the tension is very nicely built up with her use of shadow. I really especially love Sam's half-lit face, the DRAMA is on.
absynthia's Dean and Sam
Another really unique representation of Sam and Dean, younger looking with the most intense shadowing/detail around the eyes. It's been a year from when I first saw it but it's still plain sexy, can't recommend it enough!
ronchik's New Year Present_04
A lot of artists have done pencil studies of shots from the show, but this piece has perfect perfect deep shadowing and light-play. And you guys, Dean watching over Sam always hits me where it hurts! Lovely piece with a sad subject.
mysteryming's (M. Doyle) Supernatural
'Supernatural', as plainly titled as that belies the most amazing amount of movement, the way the magic, skulls and gush of brush strokes explode out of Dean's hands. Doyle has also used a great typography of her own hand for the 'Supernatural' title that's pretty damn cool. I urge you check out this piece just for the details!
jackieocean's 'The Winchesters' | On LJ (entry with full links to each separate panel with wallpapers) | Full triptych on DA (with links to separate entries and wallpapers)
This is still a unique three-piece panel that's hard to beat. Jackieocean is an amazingly talented artist, she creates a likeness to the Winchester's that seems so effortless. I love the smooth shading and the way three distinct season-one personalities shout out at me. There's also wallpaper sizes to enjoy too! What more could you want?
