Nyquil, plz?

I feel bad for neglecting lj... Not so much with making entries, but with commenting on them. I made a filter today called "People That Matter" so that I have easy access to the entries that I probably should be commenting on. (And if you're reading this, you probably matter, so don't worry).

This has been a kind of fantastic day. I looked at the wrong week on the schedule and believed myself to be working opening shift. So I showed up at 8:30 AM to find out that I was actually scheduled to close, and once I realized it, there was no point in going home. I stayed until 7:40 PM. Also, I am sick. It started out with feeling a bit crappy this morning and has proceeded to full-blown misery. Cold/flu-like symptoms. I have a day off tomorrow which will be spent resting and mega-dosing on Vitamin C. After tomorrow, I have an 11-day stretch of work. No fun.

I am not freaking out so much about my job anymore. The market seems pretty scaint right now, so I've decided to stick it out for a bit and try to make the best of the sales gig. I may completely change my mind in a month and jump ship for a $10 an hour data entry job. But at that point, at least I can say I tried. I probably can't make more money in any other job than I do at my current one. I have domestic partner benefits and a company-matched 401k which is set to vest next August (along with my short-term incentive). So for now, we'll see what happens.

Rebecca and I finally bought a new bed yesterday on my day off. We weren't planning to. We were actually going to Borders, saw a mattress store that was going out of business, and went in to check things out. The (king-sized!) mattress we picked out normally retails, with box spring, at $2400. We got the mattress, box spring, bed frame AND delivery for a little over a thousand. I am very excited. Of course, this necessitates buying all new sheets and blankets. And also, somehow miraculously having the bedroom clean before the delivery people come this Sunday.

I have grown up to be a horrendously boring person.

shopping, job, sick
