Checked out a new possible wedding location: The
Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park.
Wow. WOW. That place is stunning. A little bit Arts and Crafts, a lotta bit Spanish Colonial Revival. Smooth white stucco, red tile roofs, clay tile, wrought iron, terracotta pots and lush gardens, even in winter.
While lunching there, we realized we were far from the only couple scoping the place out, except the other half-dozen or so actually had appointments.
I'm betting it's mostly booked up for '10, and probably for good reason, too. But we'll try anyway, see what we get.
Did some more ring-shopping together. Learned that my skin tone loves
rose gold, even over white gold.
And last night, I bought myself a brand new wedding dress. Off the rack. For $420. I'm a complete sucker for champagne floral lace and embroidery, which also flatters my skin tone and fits my aesthetics. It's hanging in my closet right now in a garment bag, which I keep unzipping and peeking at with ecstatic joy. In it, I glow.
I'm seeking a hair-wreath and copper/pearl/cameo jewelry to match it on Etsy. My total look will be bohemian, eclectic, earthy, romantic, vintage. It's coming together in my head.
Wait'll you see!
