[Vriska had been standing just inside the entrance, heading back to her room after another night of roaming the island, when an inky black fog rolled out to greet her. If that wasn't a sign that Bad Things were happening here, the deafening sound of a hundred windows shutting and a hundred doors blowing open sure was ( ... )

[He can’t quite help it - every so often he glances back towards a window, out at the sky. He can’t see it, of course, but he knows it’s there, the awkward reminder of his - their - allegiance. Even though the Dark Lord’s power doesn’t seem to extend to this place, the sight of it, knowledge of it being there amongst the stars is enough to make him uneasy.

This isn’t something he wants to do, not really, but he’s hardly going to go against his father and aunt. It simply wasn’t done - and if this meant that they could leave the island, it hardly mattered, did it?

He grips his wand tightly, the soft blue light from the tip illuminating the way in front of him. He’s much happier - relatively speaking - to allow Lucius and Bellatrix to do most of the work, but he’s aware, painfully so, that reluctance isn’t any reason to not do what one ought. And standing besides one’s family was most certainly something that one ought to do ( ... )

[Through the fog she can see him -- tense, jumpy, and not much older than her. Good. So far she hadn't seen anything of what the adult humans were capable of, but she was sure she could handle someone her own age.

That wand, on the other hand...that made it hard to relax completely. Vriska hated to admit it, but she had no idea what he was capable of, either. No reason to worry, of course, because she was Vriska Serket and there was no way a human was taking her down.

Still, she clenches her dice in her fist.]

Please. Does it look like I'm hiding?

[She tilts her head, smirking, her voice light and her posture relaxed. She'd be the picture of composure if not for the way her eyes are trained on his wand hand.]

[ Mikado had been contently- or as contently as possible, given his predicament- tapping away at the PC in his room before a cold chill seemed to sweep by, cutting the light from the monitor. Despite the bad feeling, he tries what he can to restore the image but has little luck.

He squints in the darkness and lifts himself up from his seat to clumsily feel his way around the room. ]

Maybe the power's out..

[ He wonders to himself but before he can get to the door to ask his neighbors, Mikado can only hear it be ripped off its hinges. It sends him reeling backwards and the force of whatever pulled that door pushes him over. ]

[It’s occurred to him several times as he’s made his way through the dorm, that this would be easier - for everyone - if they’d just co-operate. No-one knew for certain if the escape tokens would even work; for as much as Draco would like to think - believe - that they will, he can’t quite bring himself to place his faith in it. It’s too easy, too simple.

Still. It’s something to be tested.

He approaches each room carefully, cautiously - when he’d first arrived on the island, he’d thought the dorms unbearably small and cramped, and whilst that opinion hasn’t changed per se, he can’t help but think that at night they seem so much larger. Emptier. He’d begun to wonder how many people Kernos was intending on trapping him, but now it seemed as if there was room for far more than he’d imagined.

He stops outside a doorway, the light from his wand casting shadows in the vicinity. At the sight of Mikado, his expression flickers for a moment, surprise and reluctance flitting across his features. After a moment, he speaks-]We’re collecting ( ... )

[to most, lack of light would leave them bumbling around like blind idiots. and especially with that network, people will panic. but not Smoker his lighter is hardly sufficient, for some reason, but it isn't his only option.

it's a cloud of smoke that exits room 113 and fills the hallway, probing its away along without any fear of running onto a wall. or a person.]

[Mao has decided he doesn't like this place already. He hasn't talked to him roommate really, as he's been avoiding the issue of sharing a room, so he's been wandering around wherever he can without going where something can hit him. He'd just gotten up the stairs when things suddenly go weird. And dark. It isn't so dark he can't see the door he was reaching for, though--

But then it slams open, nearly hitting him in the face, and the loud noise of it happening all at once down the hall makes him jump a little. Tall and confident or not, he isn't used to the supernatural, and it's been consistently making him feel off-balance and irritated since he got here. This is not helping.]

What in the world is this place doing now?

It's almost like a wind, when thicker darkness suddenly whorls into being not so far behind him, several feet down the hallway. It collects and reshapes into a man, squared shouldered, darkly clothed and otherwise pale all over. And he has a stick, that he happens to be pointing as if it held some sort of power that he can stand behind confidently.

Lucius takes a step forward, flicking his pale eyed stare passed the stranger and into the hallway, the sounds of people beginning to respond a sort of distant cacophony. He flicks a look to the door that the other man was going for, and then-- flicks his wand. Mao's feet snatch up from beneath him, the world turning upside down when he himself is dangled, feet brushing the ceiling, head pointed for the ground.

"Persisting," is his answer. His voice is almost pleasant. "Escape tokens. I require them. Do you have any?"

When the man appears, Mao immediately puts on a cool smirk, sure that the air of arrogant self-assurance combined with a messy look and his height will make him look a lot more intimidating than his lack of weapon and his clearly under-twenty face deserve. He's not sure what the idea is, pointing a stick at him, but he figures it's just one of those things he doesn't know about in this world.

But he gets it when he's suddenly turned upside down, vials of antitoxins falling out of their sleeves on his belt to the floor, where one breaks open to spill white powder everywhere. Still, he just raises an eyebrow. He could just say he doesn't have anything, but... he wants to know what this guy is up to.

"I might. I might not. This is all your doing?"

Morgana's been awakened by her device and the spell. She's sure that's what it is, but she's unfamiliar with it. Moreover, the announcement -- the tokens needed to return home, why lay claim to them all, given the number needed to return home?

She has none, and does not feel the concern of being harmed as others might. Over the past year, she's learned those with magic do not harm their own. At least, that is what Morgause has taught her and her sister would certainly never lie to her. If she shares a past with the other magic users here, Morgana can only hope that the same applies now. Still, her own skills excel in defense and healing, so she feels competent enough to take care of herself.

Morgana also feels confident enough to venture from her room.

Tsuna had been sleeping quite soundly before he had been abruptly woken by the sounds of doors slamming and the announcement on his phone. While he understood the desire to return home, this was not the way to do it. To force others to give up their way home and hurting them, and Fuuta was here, Fuuta was in danger, how dare they--

Pushing his anger aside, he only took a moment to put on his shoes and slam the door shut as he bolted down the hall way, hoping to stop these people before they got any further into the dorms.

Her brief foray out of her room has been of little use. She's already clashed with Arthur over what is happening, though Arthur and Morgana clashing is an everyday event.

When the unfamiliar person runs by, Morgana is fairly calm asking, "What do you think you can accomplish running into the middle of things?"

[Some time after he sees Lucius' broadcast, Charles finally arrives at the East dorm, despite his wheelchair giving him every problem it possibly could.

And how could he not come when Erik, as well as the other residents, had just been thrown into a situation like this?]

Erik? Answer me, Erik! [Pressing a finger against his temple with more force than strictly required, Charles grimly hopes Erik chose to leave the damned helmet off this time.]

[Bruce jerks in place. He's pressed up against the door of his dorm room, about to crack it open a sliver and slip out. There's something going on -- he's hearing all sorts of things-- and he wants to investigate.

Except for that part where something's talking to him in his head. His heart starts to race. Usually it talks to him like that. Wait, no, this was distinctly someone else. Someone with... an accent?]

Who is that? [he breathes, forcing himself to calm down. It's something he's practiced a lot, so it doesn't take long.]

[Charles, of course, isn't expecting to catch the tail end of something like fear and--did this man just think someone else speaks to him mentally?]

I apologise for startling you, my friend. I'm Charles Xavier--a telepath. I'm looking for a man named Erik Lensherr, also living in this dormitory.
