Holy work, Batman!
Can't believe I can be in such a good mood while being so incredibly stressed.
Porbably has something to do with the fact that I finally found a dress for Huddle! And for a lot less money then I thought it was going to cost. For a while there I didn't think I was going to be going to Huddle, so yay!
I'm working on my first project for my layout and design class, which is a bit daunting since I am doing exactly what the class sounds like...designing layouts. We're doing a typography history poster. We were given a list of 8 or so typefaces (fonts), told to pick one, look up the history of it and design a 14x20 poster using black, white and one other color. So far it's going fairly well considering that I had no idea about any of this stuff a few weeks ago.
I'll also be spending a majority of my weekend in the Mac lab in the Comm Arts building to work on my InDesign exercises.
I also have my first assignment for my copywriting class that involves writing headlines. We had to pick what we thought was a bad ad for a previous assignment. Now we have to take that ad, research what the target person is and figure out 5 different ways in which we can easily talk to them. Considering my overall goal is to become a copywriter this assignment is probably what has me most nervous. My professor, although a bit cooky, is an insanely intelligent man who has been in the business since the famous advertiser Leo Burnett was still alive. (he even worked for him!!!!!!) I really do feel like Professor Gilmore could be one of the most influential professors that I have encounter in my 5 years here.
Okay, well, I have done thoroughly too much procrastinating. I have to do laundry and do homework before I go to work.
